Early voting ongoing for eleven proposed amendments to Texas Constitution

The Texas Constitution is one of the longest in the nation and is still growing.  It has been amended 456 times since its adoption in 1876.  Eleven proposed amendments will be on the ballot for voter approval on Tuesday, November 3, 2009.  Early voting for these amendments began on Monday.  The House Research Organization is a nonpartisan source of impartial information on legislation and issues considered by the Texas Legislature.  Click here to learn more about the eleven proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution by reading the HRO’s legislative history on each proposed amendment as well as arguments For/Against…
